Low Vision and Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation
Dr. Alisa Molina is acomprehensive optometrist who specializes in low vision rehabilitation. Sheleads the Low Vision Clinic, which offers cutting-edge tools and technologiesfor patients whose vision is not correctable with glasses or contact lenses. Sheworks closely with patients who have conditions such as macular degeneration,glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinal dystrophies, and other forms of visionloss. Additionally, she is part of the Urgent Eye Care Clinic and cares forpatients with eye-related issues such as flashes and floaters, sudden visionloss, pain in or around the eye, sudden double vision, eye infections andinjury. She also provides comprehensive eye exams.
Dr. Molina earned herbachelor’s degree in Physiological Sciences from UCLA and her Doctor ofOptometry degree from the UC Berkeley, where she graduated with honors inresearch. She then completed a residency in Vision Rehabilitation at WesternUniversity College of Optometry, receiving advanced training in low vision andneuro-optometric rehabilitation. Dr. Molina also has several years of researchexperience focused on retinal diseases and dry eye.
Dr. Molina takes the timeto understand each patient’s unique lifestyle, goals, and challenges,developing personalized strategies and recommending tools—from magnifiers andassistive technology to customized visual training—to help patients regainconfidence and independence. She is committed to providing evidence-based,patient-centered care that empowers individuals to maximize their functionalvision, live as independently as possible, and continue living meaningfullives.
