A preoperative examination is required for all patients undergoing surgery. Please bring the following with you when you come to the Shiley Eye Institute:
During your preoperative appointment, our nurse practioner will review the medications that you can safely take prior to surgery. Please do not make any changes to your current medications until advised by your physician or nurse practioner.
From Monday, June 17 – Thursday, July 11 the southeast walkway to elevators for Shiley Eye Institute surgery will be closed.
The Shiley Eye Institute main lobby front doors will open at 6:30 am Monday- Friday
The surgery patient drop-off area remains on the first floor of the Athena Parking Structure (please call 858-534-8235 to alert the staff of arrival). After parking head west to the Shiley Eye Institute first floor main lobby to be escorted to the 3rd floor elevator for check-in.
The pick-up area remains on Medical Center Drive, directly south of Shiley.
To ensure the safety of all, additional vehicle yield signage will be added to the lighted pedestrian crosswalk between Athena Parking Structure and the Shiley Eye Institute.
