The Academy of Clinician Scholars at UC San Diego Health recently awarded
the Whitehill Prize for 2016 in the Department of Ophthalmology to Eric
Nudleman, MD, PhD, Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmolgy.
The Whitehill Charitable Trust established in 1995 by Jules Leonard
Whitehill, MD generated the Whitehill Prize for excellence in the teaching
of clinical medicine or surgery.
Dr. Whitehill was a general surgeon who graduated from the NYU School of
Medicine in 1935 and became Dean for Clinical Programs at the Chicago
Medical School. He retired to La Jolla and then passed away in 2009.
Congratulations to Dr. Nudleman on excellent teaching in the Department
of Ophthalmology!
