Randall J. Olson, M.D. (Professor and Chairman of Ophthalmology at the University of Utah School of Medicine) presented “What Bothers Patients after Successful Cataract Surgery” to Shiley faculty, residents, fellows and community ophthalmologists on April 8, 2013.
On May 13, 2013, we were honored to have current Academy of Ophthalmology President Paul Sternberg, Jr., M.D., Ph.D. speak to the San Diego ophthalmology community on “Biomarkers, Genetic Testing and AMD”. Dr. Sternberg is the G.W. Hale Professor and Chairman, Department of Ophthalmology, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee.
Most recently, on June 10, 2013, Lee M. Jampol, M.D., Louis Feinberg Professor of Ophthalmology at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, addressed the community on “SD OCT Opens a New World of White Spots.”
The UC San Diego Ophthalmology Community Lecture Series is held at the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center in the Goldberg Auditorium generally on the first Monday of each month. The lectures will begin again on September 9, 2013 with cornea specialist James McCulley, M.D., the David Burton, Jr. Chair in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center presenting "Diagnosis and Management of Corneal and Ocular Surface Disease."
