11 yr old Rahaf Elnemnem arrived to San Diego a little less than a week ago from Gaza. She has since been very busy meeting with ocularist and eye surgeons to determine the treatment she will need. Rahaf lost her eye when she was only two years old after suffering a trauma. Surgery and eye socket revisions have been ruled out and Rahaf will only need a cosmetic eye. She will be meeting with the ocularist Dan Acosta over the next few weeks to be fitted with a prosthetic eye at the Shiley Eye Center. Special thanks to Dr Bobby Korn for examining her and ensuring that she does not need surgical intervention. Rahaf will be under the care of our PCRF San Diego Chapter until she is ready to return home. Thanks to the surgeon, ocularist, and a great number of volunteers from the local community Rahaf is given the opportunity to live a normal life like all other kids her age.
