Charmine Trajano, OD is a comprehensive optometrist who specializes in ocular disease. She earned her bachelor’s degree in human biology and a minor degree in Linguistics at the University of California, San Diego, and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Trajano then completed a residency in ocular disease and primary care at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center in Boston where she received advanced training in Ocular Disease and Primary Care. After completing her residency, she provided high-quality care in a collaborative, patient-focused setting for the Chula Vista community. Dr. Trajano is a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, and the San Diego County Optometric Society. 

Dr. Trajano sees patients in the UC San Diego Diabetic Eye Clinic where she examines diabetic patients to detect and manage retinal disease. She is part of the Urgent Eye Care Clinic and cares for patients with eye-related issues such as flashes and floaters, sudden vision loss, pain in or around the eye, sudden double vision, eye infections and injury. She also provides comprehensive eye exams.

She is passionate about patient education and providing compassionate, comprehensive eye care to her patients. One of her most memorable and rewarding experiences was when she volunteered on an optometric humanitarian mission in Nicaragua where she helped screen thousands of people needing eye care.
