Mansoor Movaghar, M.D., earned a medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.  He spent his transitional internship year at the University of Pennsylvania Health Systems Presbyterian Medical Center and served as Chief Resident at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Great Neck, NY.  He then completed a one year fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI where he remained and practiced for 15 years.  

He then relocated to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates where he worked and treated patients at the American Hospital in Dubai for about two years.  He and his family then returned to the United States where he was Clinical Professor at State University of New York/Stony Brook for three years. He has done several medical missions in Honduras, Peru and Nicaragua performing strabismus surgery on patients without the financial means to have it done otherwise.

He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow with the American Academy of Ophthalmology and member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. He recently joined UC San Diego, Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology, as an Associate Clinical Professor. 

He specializes in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Re-alignment for strabismus.   His clinical interests include childhood eye misalignments and disorders, adult eye movement disorders, teaching, mentoring and research opportunities. Dr. Movaghar enjoys traveling with his family, having been to 22 different countries, and is excited to make San Diego his new home with his wife and two children.
