Lingling Huang, MD, PhD, is a board-certified Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology specializing in uveitis. Dr. Huang is fluent in Chinese/Mandarin

Dr. Huang completed her undergraduate degree at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. She then earned a PhD in Molecular Cancer Biology at Duke University. Following her PhD, she earned her MD from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then completed her residency intern year at Harvard Medical School Massachusetts General Hospital, and after that she finished her residency at the University of California San Diego Shiley Eye Institute, where she was the Chief Resident. She went on to complete a Uveitis Fellowship at the Casey Eye Institute at Oregon Health & Science University, where she also served as the hospital inpatient consult service attending. She has received numerous awards for academic excellence along her journey.

Dr. Huang is dedicated to treating patients with pediatric or adult onset uveitis, infectious uveitis, and autoimmune uveitis. Specific areas of expertise include juvenile arthritis-associated uveitis, tubular interstitial nephritis and uveitis syndrome (TINU), pars planitis, pediatric Vogt- Koyanagi-Harada disease, syphilitic uveitis, tuberculosis-associated uveitis, toxoplasmosis, acute retinal necrosis, herpetic uveitis, cytomegalovirus retinitis, HLAB-27 associated uveitis, inflammatory bowel disease-associated uveitis, psoriasis associated uveitis, sarcoidosis, Birdshot disease, intermediate uveitis w/wo multiple sclerosis, serpiginous choroidopathy, VKH, diverse etiologies of posterior uveitis and panuveitis, anterior and posterior scleritis, and idiopathic orbital inflammatory disease.

In addition to her clinical interests, Dr. Huang is an active researcher and has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests involve using data from electronic health records and diagnostic imaging to enhance and personalize clinical outcomes using artificial inelegance. She is the recipient of the National Institutes of Health OT2 training grant for the “AI Ready and Equitable Atlas for Diabetes Insights" (AI- READI) program which is a large trans-NIH initiative to generate new datasets for advancing artificial intelligence (AI). She is also experienced in cancer research and is interested in orbital tumor research. She has presented her research at national and international conferences. She serves as reviewers for multiple academic journals and is on the Editorial Board for the Medical Science Monitor.
